The resumption of the ferry service between Nagapattinam in Tamil Nadu and Kankesanthurai (KKS) in Sri Lanka has been delayed indefinitely. Initially planned to enhance connectivity and economic ties between the two regions, the service is facing setbacks due to various logistical and operational challenges. This delay affects the anticipated benefits such as improved tourism and trade links between India and Sri Lanka
The service, launched in October last year after nearly 40 years, was halted a few days later owing to rough weather. It was slated to resume on May 13.
