It is reported that some councilors have said that their family members also got insurance even when they were in the provincial councils.
However, it is said that the Speaker has informed the MPs that this request cannot be fulfilled at the moment due to lack of financial provisions.
In addition, it is reported that 116 MPs have signed the letter of request submitted to the speaker for duty-free vehicle permits.
The Speaker has forwarded the request to the Minister of Finance, President Ranil Wickramasinghe.
