Mr. Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena has been appointed as the Governor of Southern Province by President Ranil Wickremesinghe. Sri Lanka Latest News
The President has also appointed Mr. Nasir Ahmed as the Governor of North Western Province.
Mr. Abeywardena, who became the new governor, is scheduled to take office on Friday (03) at 09.30 am.
The inauguration will take place at the Auditorium of the Southern Province Governor’s Office on Dixon Road, Galle.
Meanwhile, Dr. Willie Gamage, who is currently serving as the Southern Province Governor, will resign from his post today (02).
The Presidential Secretariat has informed about it recently through a letter.
