Heavy showers predicted in some areas after 2 pm today!

Rain is predicted Today (17) in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-Western and Uva Provinces and in Galle and Matara Districts at noon. The Department of Meteorology states that after 2.00 there may be scattered showers or thunderstorms. (Sri Lanka Latest News)

 It is reported that there may be heavy rains around, in some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-West provinces, 50. mm of rain expected

It is also stated in the announcement that foggy conditions may prevail in some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and Galle and Matara districts in the morning.

The Department of Meteorology requests that people take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
