He also said that Anura Kumara Dissanayake has failed to prove himself as a capable leader not only among the Tamil people in the north but also among the Sinhalese people in the south.
The MP said this in response to a question by Mawbima regarding the speech made by National People’s Party leader Mr Anura Kumara Dissanayake while attending a conference in Jaffna.
Councilor Sreedharan who further commented said:
Anura Kumara Dissanayake’s speech in Jaffna did not contain any facts that could gain the confidence of the Tamil people.
In particular, he spoke with the least interest and insignificance compared to the interest shown by other political leaders in this country towards the Tamil people.
During the worst of the war, the army recruited 40,000 new soldiers, and the JVP contributed most to the separation of the northern and eastern provinces. Thousands of Tamil people died in the war.
At least Mr Anura Kumara Dissanayake did not even express his condolences for that. Furthermore, Anura Kumara Dissanayake has not given any response on the part of Anura Kumara Dissanayake about the mischief that happened and is happening with the intervention of certain monks in the Northeastern provinces.
