While Sri Lanka appears to have sailed through the political crisis with the ouster of Rajapaksas from the government, the economic crisis continues. The country needs about $5 billion in the next six months to cover basic necessities for its citizens.

The IUSF organised an anti-government protest march demanding the release of protesters who are currently in remand custody, abolishment of the Executive Presidency, the introduction of a new Constitution, concessions on basic necessities, and will urge authorities to restore university education.
