The Colombo High Court today (26) rejected a preliminary objection raised by the defendants that the case filed by the Bribery Commission against two defendants, including Mr. Keheliya Rambukwella, could not be handed over. Sri Lanka Latest News
Accordingly, Colombo High Court Judge Damith Thotawatta also allowed the case filed by the Bribery Commission against the former Minister Keheliya Rambukwella and the former Chairman of the State Legalized Printing Corporation Mr Jayampathi Bandara Heenkenda to continue.
After that, the hearing was fixed on July 22.
When this case was called, former minister Keheliya Rambukwella, who was remanded in custody, was also presented to the court.
During the period between March 15th of 2012 and April 15th of 2012, Mr. Keheliya Rambukwella, who served as the Minister of Media at that time, was accused of corruption in the payment of an amount of 230,000 rupees from the funds of the State Printing Legalized Corporation. The commission has filed this case against the two defendants.
