An expert committee was appointed by the Director General of Health to study the medical report given by the doctor of the prison hospital that Keheliya Rambukwella was not presented to the court and was suffering from a serious medical condition. Sri Lanka Latest News
The final conclusion of the committee, which consisted of eight expert doctors, is that Minister Keheliya Rambukwella does not have any illness that is serious enough not to be brought before the court.
Also, the expert committee has concluded that there is no need to transfer the former minister from the prison hospital to the Colombo National Hospital.
Deputy Solicitor General Lakmini Girihagama, who disclosed these facts before the court, also requested the court to take action against the doctor of the prison hospital who gave false medical reports.
However, the judge has said that the court cannot intervene in this matter unnecessarily, and has informed the Attorney General to take the necessary steps to ensure that the medical reports submitted by the doctors of the prison hospital should be the true ones, together with the Sri Lanka Medical Council.
