A 29-year-old woman resident of Piliyandala area has been arrested.
According to a complaint received about a woman in Ragama area, the woman was arrested during an investigation conducted by the police.
Also, the police have arrested a woman from Ragama area and a woman from Kelaniya area who bought children from that woman for fifty thousand rupees.
The woman, a resident of Piliyandala area, gave birth to these twins at the Colombo Castle Hospital.
The three women and the twins arrested in connection with the incident are scheduled to be produced before the Welisara Magistrate’s Court today.
