Mr. Ranjith Bandara, chairman of the COPE Committee, says that he strongly denies the accusation of sexual bribery levelled against him by the opposition. Sri Lanka Latest News

Speaking in the Parliament today (20), he said that by making such an accusation at a time when he was not in the Parliament, his privileges as an MP had been seriously violated.

Mr. Ranjith Bandara, who said that he had given a written notice to the Speaker in this regard, also requested the Speaker to examine the relevant allegation before the Privileges Committee.

Mr. Ranjith Bandara also said that if he is found guilty of the charge, he will resign as a Member of Parliament, and if the member who made the charge is found guilty, he should be punished for violating his privileges.
