Lanka IOC (LIOC) guarantees the highest standards in all of its products that reach Sri Lankan consumers.
Through an international competitive bidding process, LIOC obtains the highest quality fuel from reputable suppliers all over the world.
A recent shipment of petrol and petrol from an international fuel supplier arrived at the Colombo Port.
All of the chemical properties that determine the quality of the fuel were found to meet specifications after chemical testing of the entire cargo of petrol and Gasoil.
However, in the case of Gas Oil, a portion of the cargo produced inconsistent results in terms of ‘appearance’.
As a result, LIOC initially accepted and discharged only the Gasoline parcel and a portion of the Gasoil cargo where the appearance was not in question.
Concerning the remaining Gasoil cargo, where test results from samples collected at various points produced inconsistent results, LIOC requested joint sampling and testing from the Government of Sri Lanka to avoid any confusion regarding the quality specification in terms of appearance.
The product was re-sampled after obtaining permission from the authorities. It passed all required statutory quality specifications tests, and the product was accepted by LIOC.
With over two decades of presence in Sri Lanka, LIOC has contributed to the country’s economic growth and advancement of the energy sector. LIOC has stood by the people of Sri Lanka during difficult times, particularly during the recent crisis.
LIOC assures that it will continue to provide services to the people of Sri Lanka by ensuring the assured and timely delivery of quality products through its sheds across the country and that it will help Sri Lanka consolidate its economic recovery and stability.
