100 crore property of OnMmaxDT company engaged in large-scale pyramid scheme is suspended! Sri Lanka Latest News

Mr. Oswal Perera, a senior government lawyer who appeared in court for the Attorney General, said that assets owned by the five directors of the ‘Onmax DT’ private company, which has been banned by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka for dealing money in illegal pyramid schemes, have been frozen by Colombo Chief Magistrate Prasanna Alwis. He reported the facts yesterday (03) in the magistrate courts. (Sri Lanka Latest News)

Accordingly, the government lawyer also informed the court that the money in the bank accounts of the five suspects worth more than 25 crore rupees and the property worth more than 69 crore rupees (referred to as face value) in their possession have been suspended based on court orders.

The five directors of the ‘Onmax DT’ private company named by the Attorney General as suspects related to this incident were arrested by the Financial and Commercial Crime Investigation Division and presented to the court yesterday (03), the government lawyer who appeared in court for the Attorney General presented these facts.

Accordingly, since the investigation related to this incident is still in the preliminary stage, the magistrate decided that if the suspects are granted bail, there may be an obstruction in the administration of justice, and ordered that the suspects be remanded until the 16th.

Thus, the directors of ‘Onmax DT’ Private Company Kahandawa Arachchige Atula Indika Sampath, Gayashan Abeyratne, Sampath Sandaruwan, Saranga Randika Jayatissa and Dhananjaya Jayan were remanded.
