According to diplomatic sources, Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will be the chief guest at the 200th anniversary celebration of the migration of plantation Tamils organized by the Ceylon Worker Congress.
It is said that apart from the Indian Finance Minister, Kerala Chief Minister Mr Pinrai Vijayan and a number of Tamil Nadu state ministers have been invited to the main event organized by the Worker Congress to be held at the Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo on November 2nd.
The Plantation Worker Congress party has already planned to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the South Indian plantation workers community being called to the country for tea plantation work in 1823 during British rule.
