The video of the alleged fight between State Minister Diana Gamage and Sajba MPs Mr. Sujith Sanjay Perera and Mr. Rohana Bandara on the Parliament floor this afternoon is currently circulating on social media.
The Speaker has ordered a special inquiry into the incident.
A special committee headed by Deputy Speaker Ajith Rajapaksa has been appointed for that purpose.
State Minister Mrs. Diana Gamage made a statement in Parliament that she was assaulted by an MP outside the Parliament chamber this afternoon.
MPs Chamal Rajapaksa, Gayantha Karunathilaka, Imityas Bakir and Minister Dr. Ramesh Pathirana have been named as other members of the inquiry committee headed by Deputy Speaker Mr. Ajith Rajapaksa
