The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka has decided to increase the electricity tariffs by 18 per cent with effect from today (20). Sri Lanka Latest News
The Chairman Professor Manjula Fernando said that the Public Utility Commission met yesterday afternoon (19) and decided to give approval to the Ceylon Electricity Board to raise electricity rates.
The chairman also said that he will announce how the fees will be increased according to the number of units using the electricity charges by today (20) afternoon.
This is the third time electricity rates have been increased within a year.
