In the past few months, it has been observed that 20 percent of the children who come to the children’s clinic have lost more weight than they were, said Devika Kodithuvakku, the president of the Association of Family Health Service Officers.
She also mentioned that if this situation continues, there will be more chances of having a group of children who are underweight for their age.
She emphasized that if a child’s weight does not increase according to age, that child will not only become intellectually retarded, but will also become a sick child whose internal organs have not developed properly.
She warns that in order to prevent this situation immediately, the children should be given proper nutrition, otherwise the future generation will have to face a catastrophic situation.
