A meeting was held between the Minister of State for Finance Mr. Shehan Semasinghe and Mr. Parameswaran Iyer, Executive Director of the World Bank, who has gone to Morocco to attend the annual conference of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.
Mr. Semasinghe said that there was a discussion about the programs supporting Sri Lanka. The minister said that the World Bank has expressed its gratitude for the support given to the economic stability and the success of the reforms in Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka Latest News
Meanwhile, a meeting was also held between the Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund Mr. K Subramanian and the Minister of State . The current economic conditions including the progress of the economic reform program and the challenges facing the Sri Lankan economy were discussed.
The 2023 annual meeting of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank started yesterday (9) in Morocco. Mr. Semasinghe further said that he hope to meet all our partners to strengthen economic stability and achieve sustainable economic growth this week.
Central Bank Governor Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe, Finance Ministry Secretary Mahinda Siriwardena and other officials have participated in the conference which will be held until the 15th in Marrakesh, Morocco.
