The police mentioned that the 119 number received a message that the related shooting took place last night (20).
Accordingly, in the investigation carried out by the police, it was revealed that two unknown gunmen on a motorcycle fired at a three-wheeler travelling from Avissawella towards Kegalle and fled with a T56 firearm.
Four people who were injured in the incident were admitted to Avissawella Hospital and two of them died.
The deceased are 27 and 36 years old residents of Talduwa area.
Police said that the injured in the incident are 42 and 43-year-old residents of Talduwa area.
The suspects who came for the shooting have not yet been identified, and the Avissawella Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
