The bodyguards come and make noise and do whatever they want in the country. It is the public that has created this. There are no great people in Sri Lanka, even though they say they are great. If you want, you can say this. If you say there are a lot of stupid people in Sri Lanka, you are right. Sri Lanka does not have a large population, but a very small population. They are very small people and are not big for anyone.
The other day Mr. Jeevan Thondaman made a noise and danced a big dance in the middle of a town. We also wrote an article about it last week. Before writing that article, we saw that another minister made a big noise to a gentleman who worked in his company, saying, ‘This one should be chased out, this fellow should be beaten’. The political issues in this not relevant to us. We don’t know if that person has actually made any mistake there. But we would love to know who has given the authority to them people like that.
Now this Minister of State Sathasivam Vialendran is trying to publicly attack a person who claims to be a contractor. There is a conflict between them. It is also said that this is a crisis related to soil removing. If someone has been given the power to destroy the earth, this incident must have been a conflict between those who gave the power and those who took the power to cut the earth and remove soil.
We do not know how to comment on that incident. However, Satasivam Vialendran has become a street bully this time. After witnessing Jeevan Thondaman’s street bullying and criticizing it through the media, we can see that these gentlemen must have seen these things wrongly by the fact that another bully appears within a week and a half. These are really big mistakes.
But these guys don’t see these as wrong. They think that these things are right. People don’t answer this. If so, people should answer this. It doesn’t mean that you have to beat the person when you are caught. People want to give a different answer. It has to be answered by preference.
But when I talked to a gentleman related to politics about this incident, he said that ‘One corner is called ‘Shiva’, but another corner is called ‘Satha’, right?’ However, we continue to question who has empowered them to become the bullies of politicians because as a country we do not need to give too much power to such politicians.
A politician is someone who is appointed to rule the country. It’s a job. Many years ago this was in the form of direct democracy. It was for the general public. Due to the increase in the number of citizens in a country, the power that was in the hands of the common people, the city-states have been abolished and after the end of democracy, this system has been shaped into indirect democracy.
Parliamentary democracy is called indirect democracy. We send a representative to parliament . We all get together and appoint one person and tell him to come and do our work, come and do our suggestions, come and say what we say. But leaving these guys to one side to become our representative and becoming the ruler of their father, uncle, acquaintances, friends, children, and those who helped in the election. These gentlemen should kindly keep in mind that this is not the way we appoint the politicians of a country.
Therefore, we directly point the finger at the politicians, be they Sinhala or Tamil or Muslim or whatever race or whatever religion they are, don’t be bullies on the street. One day we will answer your bullying. That’s when you have to keep your mouth shut and sleep at home. Because there were more bullies in our country than you. They had to leave the country. Avilla said that if it cannot be done, it will be done by force. He said that he is not afraid of any devil. We had a time when the great heroes who defeated the terrorists came to our country and played a role of bullies. But if the bully was more stubborn than you, then we have to say that this is a bully and we are the bullies.
