Prof. G. L .Pieris said that the current government does not listen to the working people, that the departure of professionals from the country will severely affect all fields, and that the country’s brain drain should be stopped immediately, Mr. Peiris mentioned at the press conference held in their Nawala Party main office today ( 21).

He emphasized that the public should not be kept as a scapegoat in increasing the government revenue, there should be transparency in government spending, and the first thing to be done in a new government is to build a tax policy based on the opinions of scholars, educated and mature people.

Pointing out that provincial council elections should be held before implementing the 13th constitutional amendment, Mr. Sagara Kariyawasam, the secretary of the party said that the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna does not have the support of the 13th constitutional amendment, and the support of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna is needed to implement the President’s proposals. He pointed out that it is essential and that the current government is afraid of referendum.
