Dodamgoda Police say that a father of one who posted an ad on Facebook saying that a drug dealer is a headache to the village has been beaten to death with sharp weapons. Sri Lanka Latest News

Thirty-seven-year-old Dimut Chamika of Matara Arachchi, who was a resident of Dodangoda, Dolelanda, was beaten to death.

Yesterday morning (14th), the deceased went to a party held in the area and returned home at around two in the morning. At that time, a group of people broke the door of the house and entered the house, attacked him with sharp weapons and ran away.

The police said that this person, who had sustained severe cuts, died when he was admitted to the Kalutara Nagoda Teaching Hospital.

It is said that the person who was killed has been a disciple of Matugama Shan, who is considered an organized criminal, and has left them, and the drug dealer suspected to be involved in this murder has also been a close associate of Shan for some time.

It is said that after the estrangement, there have been several disputes between the drug trafficker and the deceased. A senior police officer also said that when Dimuth Chamika, who was killed a few days ago, went to the Dodangoda police and complained about it, a group of people including the related drug dealer attacked him and made him kneel in front of the road near the police.

The police said that it is suspected that anger due to the FB post may have led to commit the murder because of the ad posted on Facebook by the victims saying that a drug dealer is a headache for the village.-
