Yupun Abeykoon won the bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games 2022 placing third in the Men’s 100m finals a short while ago.
Yupun Abeykoon is the first Sri Lankan ever to win a Commonwealth Games medal in the 100 meters.
“Have no words to explain the feeling that I have right now. I did it! I made myself proud and I made everyone who has been there for me proud! Thank you very much to all of you for being there through every moment of this race.
This is just the start of more big things to come in the future. I’m going to keep working hard” Yupun posted after the win.
Para Athlete Palitha Bandara also won a silver medal in the Men’s F42-44/61-64 Discus Throw today.
