Madonna has been burning herself out while preparing for her upcoming Celebration tour and her friends fear she might end up like Michael Jackson.

Speaking to The Sun, a close friend of the Like A Virgin hitmaker expressed their concern of the singer’s “extremely risky” workout schedule as she is trying to compete with younger stars like Taylor Swift.

The pal said that Queen of Pop’s friends’ fear there would be “another Michael Jackson situation” if Madonna would not stop pushing herself to the brink.

In June 2009, the King of Pop breathed his last in the run-up to his This Is It tour as he was working too hard to give a lifetime of a performance for his fans.

Similarly, Madonna recently collapsed and was taken to a hospital where she was admitted in ICU after getting infected with a deadly bacterial infection.

“The countdown was well and truly on. Madonna had all her chips on one number, which was this tour,” the source said while hinting that Madonna’s workout for the tour contributed to her hospitalization.

“She was working overtime, but she clearly burnt herself out and people around her have been politely reminding her that she is not 45 anymore, let alone 25,” the insider said.

“She needed to pace herself. Pushing herself so hard was extremely risky,” they shared adding that in her pursuit to compete with the young stars, Madonna subjecting herself to hours of demanding rehearsals.

“Madonna was in good spirits before the incident, but some friends had encouraged her to take it easy and find time for rest because of the grueling schedule she had ahead of her,” the source said.

Meanwhile, the star is back home with some new reports suggesting that she is bedridden while her tour has been postponed till she feels better again.
