Kalutara Division Criminal Investigation Unit has arrested two persons with two firearms and the equipment used to manufacture firearms after watching videos of firearms being made on YouTube.
The police said that they found a T-56 type firearm, a five-foot-long firearm, a 7.62 caliber 39 bullet, two grinders used to make firearms and a grill in the possession of the suspects.
The police also mention that further investigations are being conducted regarding whether the suspects have committed any crimes using these firearms.
The police said that two people, 41 and 21 years old, residents of Baduraliya Seeladola area, were arrested and they are uncle and son-in-law.
The suspects were to be produced before the Matugama Magistrate.
