According to information from the police headquarters, there has been good response from France regarding the transfer of the underworld criminal named Kudu Anju, who is currently being held in a prison in that country, to Sri Lanka after being arrested by the French police.
A senior police officer mentioned that every document that should be sent from Sri Lanka to bring the drug Anju to Sri Lanka has been sent to France in due time.
The official also said that he received a lot of support from the French Embassy.
The official said that as a result of sending the relevant documents to that country, Kudu Anju has not been granted bail by the country’s court and has been informed unofficially by France that he is still being held in a prison in that country.
The official mentioned that in addition to the documents referred to Anju, other documents and information were requested from France and all of them have been given to France by now.
