Comedian Natasha Edirisuriya, who was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department, has been remanded for 10 days until June 07 after being presented to the court. (Sri Lanka Latest News)
The court informed that her detention period should be extended as further investigations are going on.
Natasha Edrisuriya has been charged under the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) Act as police accuse her of making statements that incite religious hatred and discord in the country.
Natasha was arrested at the Katunayake airport while waiting to leave for Singapore after a controversial story that was heavily discussed in the society in recent days.
