The University of Colombo Alumni Association bestows the Pinnacle Achievement Award on Professor G. L. Peiris.

Professor G. L. Peiris, former Vice-Chancellor and former Dean of the Faculty of Law of the University of Colombo, was among several distinguished alumni who received Pinnacle Achievement Awards at the ceremony organized by the Alumni Association of the University of Colombo at Hotel Galadari last Friday.The Awards were given by President Ranil Wickramasinghe, who himself received an award from the presenters.
Professor Peiris was introduced as a Rhodes Scholar, Doctor of Philosophy and Quondam Visiting Fellow of All Souls College of the University of Oxford; a former Distinguished Visiting Fellow of Christ’s College, Cambridge; and Smuts Visiting Fellow in Commonwealth Studies in the University of Cambridge; and Butterworths Visiting Fellow of the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies in the University of London.
The Presenters  made reference to the distinguished political career of Prof. Peiris.
