Four people have died as a result of injuries sustained in shootings reported in the last 24 hours, which ended at 6 a.m. today.
Saman Rohitha, alias “Pas Podda,” an underworld gangster, died after being injured in a shooting reported in front of the Gampaha Magistrate’s Court yesterday.Unidentified gunmen arrived in a vehicle and opened fire on “Pas Podda” and three other people who had appeared in court for a case.
Meanwhile, an individual was shot to death last night at his home on Silva Mawatha in Ratmalana. Two unidentified gunmen had entered the victim’s home and shot him before fleeing the scene.
The 30-year-old Ratmalana resident died after being admitted to Colombo South Teaching Hospital. The police stated that a T-56 firearm was used in the murder, but the cause of the murder has yet to be determined.
Furthermore, two people were killed in a shooting reported last evening in the Galagoda area of Ambalangoda.Initially, one person was killed and another was taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds.
However, the injured victim died from his injuries after being admitted to the hospital. The shooting allegedly occurred at a funeral in Ambalangoda’s Galagoda district.
