Old boys union of St.benedict’s college spreads Christmas cheer to 240 less privileged families in kotahena.

Boasting a rich history, the Old Boys union of St.Benedict’s College celebrated Christmas in 2022 in it’s true spirit. “THE HOPE TREE” project initiated by the OBU of St.Benedict’s College, was aimed at turning hopes in to realities for the under privileged in Kotahena.

This year the project focused on providing a festive meal to the under privileged for Christmas in Kotahena. The OBU was able to raise over Rs.1.4 million with the launch of the project in December 2022, through loyal Old Benedictines, well-wishers and sponsors.

The Distribution of the festive packs took place at the College premises on the 22nd of Decmember,2022. The OBU remains committed to make “THE HOPE TREE” an annual charity project and every year the “THE HOPE TREE” will focus on an area of requirement within the community in Kotahena to make a hope become a reality to the under privileged.
