The last rites of the former Western Province Chief Minister, former Northern Province Governor, and former Chairman of Sri Lanka Rupawahini Corporation, Mr. Reginald Cooray, were performed yesterday afternoon at Kalutara Bombuwala.
None of the party and opposition politicians who were present were not,allowed to give speeches, and only the visiting Maha Sangharatna was given time to give sermons after the religious rites.
Then a song written by Mr. Reginald Currey and sung by him was played by the cremation committee in fulfillment of his request before his death, and many were moved by the song.
