Major General Mahendra Fernando of the Sri Lanka Armed Forces has recently assumed duties as the new Military Service Secretary of the Army Headquarters.
Major General Mahendra Fernando signed a symbolic official document as the new Military Service Secretary and took over the duties of the new position amid the Seth Pirit chanting of the Maha Sangharatne.
A group of staff officers and other officers of the Military Service Secretary Branch also participated in this event.
Before assuming the duties of the new position, Major General Mahendra Fernando held the position of the Divisional Commander of the 51st Division established under the Security Forces Headquarters – Jaffna.
