Mr. Thilanga Sumathipala, Vice President of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, has been appointed as the General Secretary of the United People’s Freedom Alliance headed by the Sri Lanka Freedom Party.
Accordingly, the Central Committee of Sri Lanka has decided today to remove Mr. Mahinda Amaraweera, who has held that position so far.
In addition, it has been decided to appoint Mr. Shan Vijayalal for the post of Secretary General of the Sri Lanka Podu Peramuna.
