Student honours cherished teacher. Nanda Malini cements Pandith Amaradeva’s ashes. State broke promise

A student makes a noble gesture to a beloved teacher. Nanda Malini burying Pandith Amaradeva’s ashes in a cemetary she built. The state broke its promise.
Yesterday, steps were taken to bury the remains of Sri Lanka’s great musician, Pandit Amaradeva, whose remains (ashes) had been kept in a private funeral parlor for 6 years, in Apegama premises .


It was initiated and carried out by Nanda Malini, a student of Amaradeva.
She had also taken steps to build a cemetery on ‘ ape gama’ premises with her own funds and lay the ashes there. –

This is how our government treats artists! The construction of the hermitage of the Sri Lanka’s great Musician Pandith Amaradeva in has stopped! The ashes are still in the funeral parlor !
Pandit W.D Amaradeva who is considered to be the great Musician of Sri Lanka .It is reported that the ‘Amaradeva Hermitage’, which was prepared to be built for the Amaradevas, has now been stopped.

The construction of this hermitage was started during the previous Yahapalan government.

But now it is known that the construction has been stopped in the middle.

Also, the media has reported today that his ashes are still kept in the mausoleum.
