Seylan Bank crowned ‘A’ Division Champions at the 32nd MSBA League Tournament 2024

Seylan Bank emerged victorious in the Women’s A- Division of the 32nd Mercantile Services Basketball Association (MSBA) League Tournament 2024. Recognized as the country’s premier corporate basketball event, the 32nd edition of the MSBA Tournament was recently hosted at the Royal College Indoor Sports Complex, featuring 112 games.

The team from Seylan Bank defeated Commercial Credit with a final score of 56-50. Led by Benika Thalagala as Captain and Kamalene Mills as Vice-Captain, the team included Jayaliya Kumari, Chalani Perera, Epciba Washington, Maleka Emshera, Shonali Dharmasena, Hansini Maleesha, and Nihari Perera. Kamalene Mills’s performance singled her as the team’s Most Valuable Player.  Seylan Bank’s Women’s A-Division competed against Commercial Credit and HNB, demonstrating a singularly remarkable ability to coordinate teamwork, skill, and resilience to secure their title.

Featuring a total of 636 registered players, the MSBA League Tournament aims to create a platform where working professionals may bridge their passion for careers with their spirit of sportsmanship. Seylan Bank celebrates the athletic prowess of its team, anticipating a future of victories to come.
