It is determined by online votes cast by the ICC Special Bench and cricket fans.
The nominees for the ICC Player of the Month award for the month of April were announced today by ICC. Among them were the names of two batsmen and a bowler, as well as the names of two Asian players.
Sri Lankan player Prabhat Jayasuriya is one of three recommended names for the month of April, along with Mark Chapman and Fakhar Zaman from New Zealand.
Angelo Mathews, who also won the ICC Player of the Month award, was the last Sri Lankan player to be nominated for this award.
