Hayleys PLC crowned Champions at spectacular Standard Chartered Cup 2025

Winning team presented all-inclusive trip to Liverpool, UK to watch a live Premier League Match at the prestigious Anfield Stadium

The Standard Chartered Cup 2025, a premier corporate 5-a-side Futsal tournament, organised by Standard Chartered Sri Lanka, concluded recently at the Racecourse Grounds, Colombo.

Hayleys PLC emerged victorious, clinching the prestigious SC Cup 2025 with a thrilling victory over LOLC Finance PLC in an exhilarating final match captivating the packed stadium. The Champions also walked away with and a trip to Liverpool, UK. The prize offers a unique opportunity to witness a live Liverpool FC (LFC) Premier League game and tour the iconic Anfield Stadium, home of the Reds. The Runners-up, LOLC Finance, walked away with signed LFC jerseys.

Standard Chartered Sri Lanka CEO, Bingumal Thewarathanthri, said, “We extend our congratulations to Hayleys PLC for their outstanding performance and to all participating teams for their tremendous enthusiasm and sportsmanship. The Standard Chartered Cup is our commitment to bring together Sri Lanka’s business community through the universal language of football, strengthening client relationships and celebrating the passion that unites us all. The tournament was played under flood lights and saw fierce competition among 28 teams representing a diverse cross-section of Sri Lanka’s business community. Each match demonstrated the power of sports to unite corporate leaders in friendly rivalry. The championship showcased athletic talent and strengthened the Bank’s dedication to creating unique experiences that blend business networking with the excitement of football, bringing clients closer to the sport they love.

Yamuna Silva, Interim Head, Corporate Affairs, Brand and Marketing added, “We are proud to bring a piece of Anfield home to Sri Lanka as honouring Standard Chartered’s 15 year long partnership with Liverpool FC. The tournament drew enthusiastic support from participating companies and Standard Chartered officials. Adding to the exciting atmosphere were entertainment acts and a spectacular fireworks display creating an unforgettable experience that combined corporate networking with the love for football.
