Wasantha Samarasinghe, a national executive member of the National People’s Force, has raised the question of why those responsible for corruption are now pointing fingers at others.
Former Minister of Public Security, Tiran Alas, revealed that all details related to Athar’s involvement in the visa and passport fraud are now coming to light. He emphasized that everyone implicated in these illegal activities will be held accountable under the law.
Samarasinghe also noted that there is no need for hasty or reckless actions, as the current government is in place to enforce the law effectively. He further stated that the long-standing corruption within factions such as the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP), Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), and the United National Party (UNP) is nearing its end, hinting that the final reckoning is imminent.
These remarks were made during a press briefing.
