Sajith Premadasa pointed out a shift in stance by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, highlighting that while Anura once championed media freedom as a presidential candidate, he now, as President, reprimands and directs the media.
Emphasizing that the President has no authority to issue orders to the media, Premadasa reaffirmed his commitment to supporting media freedom.
He added that all politicians should uphold the principles of media freedom.
