Some of the tasks assigned to the Minister of Ports, Navigation and Aviation, Mr. Nimal Siripala de Silva, have been assigned to the s Minister of State, Mr. Premalal Jayasekara, in a gazette notification signed by him.
Accordingly, the development of Palali Airport, Ratmalana Airport, any airports identified for development, Kankasanture Port and Oluwil Port will be entrusted to the State Minister under the supervision and guidance of the Minister of Shipping and Aviation.
In addition to this, the Minister of State is also assigned to assist the Minister of Ports and Aviation in all development projects under the Ministry of Ports, Navigation and Aviation Services, it is further stated in the Gazette notice.
