The motion filed by the sports minister in relation to this case was called today (14) before a bench of judges consisting of Mr. Justice Nishanka Bandula Karunaratne and Mr. Vikum Kaluarachchi.

The President’s lawyer, who represented the Minister of Sports, informed the court that his client objected to the hearing of the case by the President of the Court of Appeal.

The presiding judge Mr. Nishanka Bandula Karunaratne stated that he decided to withdraw from this trial due to the unfair criticism of the sports minister, some cabinet members and members of parliament in recent days.
