Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa said that no decision was taken to change the existing Election Commission in the Legislative Assembly which met yesterday.

The Leader of the Opposition said that what the Legislative Council is doing is reducing the powers of the Executive President, and through that, the Legislature works to balance the Executive and the Judiciary, and the Legislative Council has many responsibilities.

The opposition leader, who drew attention to a decision taken in the Legislative Assembly held yesterday, said that apart from the Election Commission, he decided to invite applications to other commissions.

However, the leader of the opposition emphasized that there is no need to change the existing election commission when an election is underway, and it is impossible to do so, and said that the existing election commission should function as it is.

However, the opposition leader said that it is a serious offense to act against the sovereignty of the people and added that it is a serious offense punishable by imprisonment.

He said this when he met today at the opposition leader’s office, where nearly four hundred graduates who lost their jobs based on some technical issues during the employment of 50,000 graduates. .
