Special Traffic Arrangement for Today: Katunayake-Colombo Highway, Peliyagoda-Hilton Road, and Galle Road Shut Down for Iranian President’s Visit – Sri Lanka Latest News

Police say that a special security plan and traffic plan will be implemented with the arrival of the President of Iran to Sri Lanka this morning for the opening of the Uma Oya project. Sri Lanka Latest News

Police Media Spokesman DIG Advocate Nihal Talduwa said that accordingly, several roads in Colombo will be closed on several occasions tomorrow afternoon.

Accordingly, the police say that the Katunayake-Colombo Expressway will be closed today (24) between 2 pm and 3 pm.

The police say that there is no opportunity for vehicle traffic on both sides of the road.

Also from the expressway to Peliyagoda, Orugudawatta Junction, Dematagoda, Borella, DS Senanayake Junction, Horton Place, Horton Roundabout, Green Path, Library Roundabout, Ananda Kumaraswamy Mawatha, Liberty Roundabout, RA The Mall Mawatha, Shatna Michael Road, Galle Road The road to Fort and the road to Hilton Hotel will be closed during this one hour.

Colombo Lotus Roundabout will be closed after 3.30pm and several roads including Galle Road from the President’s Office will be closed between 6.00pm and 6.30pm.

Again after 7.30 pm the road to the Fort President’s House will be closed and after 9.30 pm several roads including NSA roundabout Gallupara from Fort Colombo will be closed.

Police further state that measures will be taken to close Katunayake Expressway from 9.30 to 10.30 pm.

The police also said that the road from Mattala to Uma Oya will be closed for some time from 9.30 to 11 tomorrow morning.

Also, between 12 noon and 1 pm, the road will be closed again and special security will be deployed around Mattala Airport, the police spokesperson said.
