Katana Police have launched an investigation to apprehend Hayeshika Fernando, widely known as ‘Teacher Amma’, a popular tutor who conducts scholarship classes, in connection with an alleged assault on a young man.
According to reports, Hayeshika Fernando is accused of kicking the young man in the testicles, resulting in injuries that required him to be admitted to the Negombo Hospital for medical treatment.
Following the incident, Fernando reportedly fled the area. However, her husband and her manager have been arrested by the Katana Police in relation to the case.
The suspects were produced before the Negombo Magistrate’s Court, where the Chief Magistrate ordered that both individuals be remanded until the 14th of this month.
Additionally, the Magistrate directed the Katana Police to carry out further investigations into the main suspect, ‘Teacher Amma’ alias Hayeshika Fernando, and to take steps to arrest and present her before the court.
