This hartal is based on seven main issues affecting the people of the North Eastern Provinces including the resignation of the Mullaitivu Magistrate.
On this day, Tamil political parties have demanded that all the shops in the north-eastern areas should be closed, travel activities should be stopped and schools should be stopped.
It has also been decided in this discussion that government offices and banks should support this full hartal.
When this hartal was scheduled to be held on the 13th of this month, the date of the hartal was postponed indefinitely due to the objections of several Tamil political parties to the decisions taken earlier.
