Dipped Products PLC (DPL), one of Sri Lanka’s leading manufacturers of hand protection solutions, donated 50,000 protective gloves to the Ministry of Defence to support relief efforts for communities affected by the recent floods.

The donation was formally handed over by Hayleys PLC Chairman, Mohan Pandithage, together with Dipped Products PLC Managing Director, Pushpika Janadheera, to the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, underscoring the private sector’s commitment to supporting national disaster response initiatives.

The gloves will be deployed in flood-affected areas to assist relief personnel and volunteers engaged in rescue, clean-up, and rehabilitation activities, helping ensure safety, hygiene, and protection during relief operations.

Speaking on the initiative, representatives of DPL highlighted that the donation reflects the company’s longstanding commitment to social responsibility and its responsibility to stand with communities during times of national need. As a manufacturer of protective gloves serving global markets, DPL emphasized the importance of safeguarding frontline workers and volunteers who play a critical role in disaster recovery.

This initiative also aligns with the broader sustainability and community engagement commitments of both Dipped Products PLC and the Hayleys Group, reinforcing their focus on meaningful contributions that support national resilience and community well-being.

Dipped Products PLC continues to support relief and community initiatives as part of its ongoing efforts to give back to society.
