Bollywood’s ‘He-Man’ Dharmendra has passed away at 89 after his recent hospitalisation in Breach Candy Hospital, Mumbai.

It is truly the end of an era in Bollywood after India’s silver screen has lost one of its brightest stars, Dharmendra, at the age of 89. The actor who earned the name of Bollywood’s ‘He-Man’ for his style, impressive screen presence, and action films, defined multiple generations of Hindi cinema. Dharmendra’s demise has left behind an unmatched legacy spanning over six decades that will continue to inspire future generations of actors for years to come. Whole fans are mourning the loss of the evergreen superstar who shaped Hindi Cinema. Find out what exactly led to his death.

What led to the passing of Dharmendra?

Dharmendra was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on November 10, after he reportedly felt unwell. According to Aaj Tak, the actor took his last breath in the early hours of November 11, 2025. His exact cause of demise is unknown. Earlier, Salman Khan, Govinda and Shah Rukh Khan visited the actor in the hospital.

Earlier sources close to the Deol family told Times Now that the veteran actor was under observation and ‘doing fine”. His wife, the actress and politician, Hema Malini, along with their sons, Sunny and Bobby Deol, were frequently spotted visiting him at the hospital. Hema Malini earlier took to her Instagram handle and updated fans about the veteran actor’s health. At the same time, she requested fans to pray for Dharmendra’s welfare and speedy recovery.

Earlier in the day, news reports suggested that Dharmendra was in a stable condition. However, confusion and false rumours about his health erupted after updates of him being on a ventilator went viral. In turn, Sunny Deol’s team and other family members assured fans that the veteran actor was ‘under observation but stable’ and not critical. As fans and celebrities have begun pouring in tributes, social media is flooded with emotional tributes celebrating Dharmendra’s life and career as one of India’s most loved stars.
