Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation General Limited (SLICGL) successfully concluded its prestigious ‘General Insurance Summit 2024’ on June 20th and 21st, 2025, at the Shangri-La Hambantota. Organised under the inspiring theme ‘Celebrating Excellence – The Legacy Continues, the annual flagship event recognized outstanding performers who demonstrated tireless dedication achieving the company’s revenue targets and advancing the general insurance business in Sri Lanka.

The two-day residential summit conveyed a distinguished gathering of high-performing sales officers, managers, and corporate line winners from SLICGL’s extensive network of over 3,000 sales professionals. The program celebrated individuals who made a notable contribution, driving a performance-driven culture.

Among them, over 200 sales personnel were honoured for their excellence in delivering volume and exceptional service.

The summit commenced with the felicitation of winners from the ‘General Champions’ sales competition, acknowledging their role in surpassing revenue targets and elevating the general insurance business.

Award recipients included top-performing Insurance Advisors, Marketing Executives, Channel Managers, Branch Managers, Corporate Sales Officers, and Corporate Sales Supervisors representing Head Office, Branch Offices, Bancassurance, and Corporate Sales divisions.

The summit featured impactful knowledge-sharing sessions led by renowned industry experts, designed to boost participants’ skills and prepare them for future challenges in the dynamic insurance landscape.

Tharanga Rathnayaka, a specialist in Enterprise Technology Integration, AI, and Automation, conducted an insightful session on digital transformation’s role in reshaping the insurance industry. His presentation focused on leveraging technology to enhance sales productivity and operational efficiency.

Nevindee Amarasinghe, a seasoned professional in Marketing, Public Relations, and Customer Care, delivered a compelling session on customer experience excellence, brand communication strategies, and effective stakeholder engagement in the digital era.

Beyond formal recognition and learning sessions, the summit featured recreational activities and team-building engagements that allowed participants to strengthen relationships, network effectively, and build camaraderie in a relaxed environment.

The General Insurance Summit 2024 was a celebration of achievements and a catalyst for continued innovation and growth. Bringing together top performers and industry experts, the event supported SLICGL’s mission to empower its people, cultivate excellence, and maintain leadership in the general insurance sector.
