SLT-MOBITEL empowered SLIoT Challenge 2023 concludes with Grand Finale showcasing innovation and excellence in IoT

SLT-MOBITEL empowered SLIoT Challenge 2023 culminated with a grand finale, held recently at the University of Moratuwa.

The SLIoT Challenge 2023 was organised in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Moratuwa, and the Information Technology and Communications Engineering Sectional Committee, Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka.

The competition highlighted SLT-MOBITEL’s pivotal role in empowering and nurturing talent in the field of IoT, promoting a culture of innovation and technological advancement. SLT-MOBITEL is also successful in providing a platform that brings together a diverse array of participants, showcasing groundbreaking projects and solutions in IoT while demonstrating their outstanding talent and ingenuity.

Dr. Kutila Gunasekara, Department of Computer Science, University of Moratuwa, delivered an inspiring welcome address. The event was graced by Prabhath Dahanayake, Chief Marketing Officer, SLT-MOBITEL, who served as the Chief Guest, alongside Rohana Ellawala, Deputy Chief Marketing Officer, SLT, and other officials, including Prof. Chandana Gamage, Department of Computer Science, University of Moratuwa.

The Grand Finale featured teams from the school, university, and open categories, each presenting their innovative projects and solutions.

The winner of the school category was Team Maroons from Ananda College, Colombo. Team D Robotics and IoT from H/Rajapaksha Central College Weeraketiya and Team Phoenix from Gateway College Kandy were placed second and third, respectively. In the university category, Team Hydrolink from the University of Moratuwa won first place, with Team Impax from the University of Peradeniya, and Team Hades from the Java Institute of Advanced Technology emerging as the second and third contenders, respectively. In the open category, Team Energetix were adjudged winners, while Teams Agrifue and Rysera placed second and third, all showcasing the diverse talent and creativity in the IoT domain.

The SLIoT Challenge 2023 Grand Finale was a celebration of innovation, creativity, and excellence in IoT. As the national ICT solutions provider, SLT-MOBITEL remains committed to supporting and promoting innovation in IoT. The successful culmination of the SLIoT Challenge 2023 – Grand Finale demonstrates the organization’s dedication to highlighting IoT achievers and breakthroughs in the field of technology.
