Premier finance company Siyapatha Finance PLC recently declared open its 57th branch in Thambuttegama, expanding its island-wide presence to the tranquil town in the Anuradhapura District.

Gracing the branch opening ceremony were Siyapatha Finance PLC Managing Director Mr. Ananda Seneviratne along with Siyapatha Finance PLC  Senior Management, and staff as well as Thambuttegama Divisional Secretary Mr. Sumith Somarathna, Police Trafic OIC Mr. N A Thilakarathna, Grama Niladhari  Mr. A M D R Adhikari , Trade Association President  Mr. M A Pathmasiri , officials from government and private banks and insurance companies, and well-wishers.

Situated in the North Central Province of Sri Lanka, approximately 45 kilometers from Anuradhapura and 160 kilometers from Colombo, Thambuttegama is surrounded by fertile soil and boundless stretches of golden paddy fields. The profound cultural heritage and deep-rooted traditional values play an essential role in the daily lives of locals, mirroring a community united through a shared admiration for the region’s ancient history.

The economic landscape of Thambuttegama is founded on the region’s agricultural prominence and contribution to the country’s paddy cultivation over generations. With a majority of the population representing the economically active group of individuals aged between 16 and 64 years, the livelihoods of a significant  portion of the workforce revolve around agricultural activity.

Today, further strengthened by the ample opportunities created by the Thambuttegama Economic Center for nearly two decades, locals envision a reality of self-sufficiency and prosperity.

Speaking at the ceremony, Siyapatha Finance PLC Managing Director Mr. Ananda Seneviratne shared: “As a finance company, we are deeply grateful to be welcomed by such a vibrant local community. Thambuttegama reflects a harmonious integration between rural charm and modern advancements. The region shows great potential in developing as a prominent agricultural hub on a national level. Having witnessed the growing demand by individuals as well as Small and Medium Entrepreneurs (SMEs) for reliable financial backing, we take this opportunity to build a stepping stone to rise above challenges and remind us all that anyone can aim high.”

The newest branch offers a range of holistic financial solutions from leasing, fixed deposits, savings, gold financing, business loans, personal loans, fast drafts, and factoring to the Smart Pay bill payment facility, building a strong and secure support system within the region.

Siyapatha Finance PLC, the largest fully owned subsidiary of the Sampath Bank Group, boasts an island-wide network of branches ensuring its customers are provided with the best-in-service delivery standards. The company has secured a National Long-Term Rating of ‘A(lka)’ with a Stable Outlook by Fitch Ratings, reflecting solid financial standing and promising growth trajectory.
