Singer Sri Lanka PLC was awarded the Gold Award in the Trading Companies category at the TAGS Awards 2025, organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka.

The awards ceremony recognized the pinnacle of corporate reporting achievement in Sri Lanka, with Singer Sri Lanka emerging as the top performer among trading sector competitors.

The Gold Award is a powerful endorsement of Singer’s robust corporate governance framework and its unwavering commitment to transparency, accountability, and ethical business practices. The TAGS Awards representing Transparency, Accountability, Governance and Sustainability are widely regarded as a benchmark for excellence in corporate reporting, making this recognition particularly significant.

Commenting on the achievement, Mahesh Wijewardene, Group Managing Director of Singer Sri Lanka, stated: “This Gold Award is a reflection of the disciplined governance culture we have embedded across the Singer Group. Transparency and accountability are not compliance requirements for us—they are core principles that guide every strategic decision we make. We remain committed to building a resilient, future-ready organization that consistently delivers long-term value to our stakeholders.

The accolade also highlights Singer’s leadership in sustainability and responsible retailing. From strengthening community initiatives to embedding sustainable operational practices across its island-wide network, the company continues to drive impact beyond commercial performance.

Finance Director of Singer Sri Lanka Shalinka Seresinhe, added:

“This recognition validates the strength of our financial discipline, risk management frameworks, and the adaptation of integrated reporting standards. As a leading trading company, our focus has always been on balancing growth with responsibility—ensuring that innovation in our trading and distribution networks is supported by strong governance and financial stewardship.”

As a market leader in Sri Lanka’s retail and trading sector, Singer’s Gold win further reinforces its ability to integrate sound financial management with innovative trading excellence. The achievement stands as a testament to the company’s sustained commitment to governance, sustainability leadership, and operational excellence.

With this latest milestone, Singer continues to strengthen its position as one of Sri Lanka’s most respected and professionally managed organizations, setting new benchmarks in corporate accountability and sustainable growth.
